To Force the Automatic Update Client to check updates immediately from Local WSUS Server (make sure the WSUS information is already registered into Windows registry), open the cmd and run “wuauclt.exe /detectnow” (without quotes). This procedure will Triggering AU Detection to get updates immediately. That’s it!

If the client stop getting updates after installing new WSUS Server (make sure the new WSUS information is already registered into Windows registry), run ”wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow“.

Please note, the script below is only run if the client never get the updates with “wuauclt.exe /detectnow” command above! Before do this, try to restart the computer and run ”wuauclt.exe /detectnow” after computer start. Hope it will get updates immediately without running the script!

Copy and Paste the code below into a text file and save it (ie. WsusForceUpdate.cmd)

Run the script. If nothing happen after more than 15 minutes (no new updates found), you need to restart the computer and do “wuauclt.exe /detectnow” procedure after computer start.
